Meet the Maker

Hi, I'm Vineta, the inventor and maker of Swaplights!

I started this company as a fun hobby in my tiny backyard shed in Seattle, and it has quickly grown into an amazing way to share a bit of creativity and color with the world.

I began my maker journey as a woodworker, building and sharing my DIY projects on my website, The Handyman's Daughter. I was always intrigued by machines that can cut precise, intricate designs out of wood in ways traditional tools never could. Once I tried out a laser for myself, I was hooked!

I love color, so I started out pairing wood with transparent acrylic to create suncatchers to hang in the window. But we don't get a lot of sun during the winter months here in the Pacific Northwest! So I had to create my own light.

Swaplights were inspired by those old View-Master reels that I played with as a kid. But instead of one person peering into a red plastic viewer, everyone can enjoy the colors and patterns of my night light covers. My patent-pending design allows you to quickly swap out your cover for different holidays, seasons or your mood.
